The very large pitch meant the boys would have to work very hard and this resulted in an open and end to end game.
Daisy Hill took the game to Thunder in the opening minutes and a combination of great 'keeping from Samuel, last ditched defending and the wookwork kept Daisy Hill to just a 1 goal lead. On a rare attack Rammy picked up a clearance and placed his shot nicely into the corner of the goal. Half-time 1-1.
The second half improved for Thunder with the boys learning that they had to close down the space in the middle of the pitch. Harry and Thomas lead this by holding a high defensive line. Daisy Hill extended their lead before Ryan scored the goal of the game, hooking a volley into the top corner following Luke's well taken free-kick. In an end to end game the teams traded further goals, Rammy making it 3-3 before Danny gave Thunder the lead, poaching another goal after the keeper failed to hold a shot. Daisy Hill scored twice more while Thunder were denied by the post and some good keeping as Ryan and George both had one-on-one chances. Final score Daisy Hill 5 - Thunder 4.
Another encouraging performance by Thunder. Nice attacking play by Danny, Rammy and Georgie Boy backed up with solid defending by Thomas with Samuel making some important saves as usual. Man of the match goes to "Tom the Bomb" who defended strongly, showed great positional sense and calmness in possession. Well done.
