Match Report
The vets 2nd game of the season ended in a 2-2 draw against a decent Golborne side who twice beat the Bromley Cross outfit last season, today was a different story as the passing and movement was exellent a good move in the first 10 minutes saw Stan Laurel square the ball for Jurgen who finished well with his left foot!!! its a pity Jurgen didnt use his left foot 5 minutes later as Bromley were awarded a penalty and unlike free kicks where everybody wants to take it no body was around!!!! anyway Jurgen hit the foot of the post and the ball was cleared (sorry boys) A good defensive 15 minute period was had by Bromley as Golborne piled on the pressure but the defence stood tall and dealt with everything really well backed up by the Smurf in goal who made 1 or 2 good saves and commanded the box all day right up and till the 4 minutes of added time or was that 5 and a half i quite cant remember!!!!!!

Bromley went in 1-0 at the break and were playing really well, the second half began and Golborne were putting plenty of pressure on and Top Gun was defending like a man posessed with some great tackles Captain OG and The Red Barron worked great as a team and Sick note (who lasted most of the game no problem at all) and Boss Hogg broke up play time and time again and played some great balls through and had some great touches. Mr Grumpy had a fine game on the left despite not being fully fit and Andy Blackburn and Jurgen did well up front together, Arny and Hawaii 50 did well in their time on the pitch as did Jethro who got in some good tackles and passes, Pizza Pete was played a little out of position and kept going well.

With 20 minutes to go Golborne got the goal to make it 1-1 and Both teams had a couple of chances to win the game but couldnt quite take them and the game finished 1-1 which on reflection overall we maybe should have nicked it but the performance was the main thing today as everybody played their part in earning the draw, none more so than Tim Worthington who had a great debut and worked hard all game with some quality tackling and great passing and earned him the man of the match award well done Tim!!!
