Todays home match against Victoria on paper looked as though it would be an easy victory for the visitors, however Bromley played their best game for a few weeks and took the visitors all the way.
Bromley could have taken the lead in the 1st ten minutes with Jurgen having a 1 on 1 with the keeper which the keeper managed to save and from the corner Mr Grumpy had a chance to head Bromley in front but the ball was just behind him and it went over,Smurf made a great save to keep the scores level before
more pressure from Bromley saw them take the lead from a corner with Elma Fudd heading into his own goal for the visitors to put Bromley 1 up, Bromley had good possesion and created a couple more chances before the visitors got down the right hand side and a squared the ball across for the striker to fluke a shot which looped over the stranded smurf and it was 1-1. Sick note was having a great game in the middle of the park until the usual thing happened and a hamstring was tweeked again (only joking!!!) and Jethro was introduced on the right of midfield
Half time came and Bromley were playing really well but unfortunately were all freezing due to Boss Hogg not getting the away kit to me knowing that he was away and we had to play in skins!!! the lads are all waiting to speak to you boss!!!!!! hope you had a good 50th birthday!!!
The second half began and there wasnt much between the 2 until Smurf decided to come for the ball but forgot to get it and it looped over him and the visitors went ahead Smurf looked to the heavens probably looking for Father Abraham (did anyone get that!!!)
Bromley worked hard to get back in the game Simon Phillips had a good game in the middle and all the defence Einstein,Mr Benn and Stan Laurel did really well Captain Dirty B****** i mean OG had a steady game and Mr Grumpy had some good touches despite not being fully fit but soldiering on for the team a true pro!!!!
The pressure told again as Billy Whizz in his new position of center midfield (a master stroke from the manager!!!!) slipped a great ball through to Jurgen who touched it past the keeper and then finished well with his left foot to make it 2-2 and it was game on, Pizza Pete did his usual marathon of running and had some great touches and held the ball up well on more than 1 occassion Jurgen had a decent game and made the keeper work and had no dives this week!!! but Bromley couldnt get the ball to drop in the right places. Captain Dirty B******* picked up a caution for his 17th foul on thir number 9 and this was probably why he had road rage on the way home and he was on a push bike!!!!!!!
Victoria broke away again and somehow the ball managed to get over the defence and Smurf and ended up in the back of the net and Bromley were behind but great credit must be given to all the team for never giving in as Victoria held on for the win 3-2 .It was nice to see the lads who were injured cheering the lads on from the side as well as our ever present supporters
Todays man of the match for his effort and determination all over the middle of the field goes to Billy Whizz well done Steve
